Qucell Utilizes Radisys Software for 5G Small Cells

By Luke Bellos

Open telecom solution developer Radisys recently announced Qucell Networks will utilize Connect RAN gNodeB software to deploy 5G small cell solutions for customers across the world.

The demand for 5G connectivity solutions is growing by the minute, as business leaders are eager to harness its power to improve operational capabilities, and offer reliable connectivity to employees and customers. 5G cells are able to provide this connectivity on a local level, ideal for supporting industrial factories, healthcare facilities, sport arenas, and more.

Thanks to Radisys’ Connect RAN gNodeB software, the 5G small cells produced by Qucell will enable businesses to simplify their 5G deployment strategy, and provide the high capacity needed to fuel their connectivity needs.

“We are seeing growing demand for 5G small cells as global operators roll out their 5G networks and enterprises seek to deploy 5G private networks,” said Munish Chhabra, SVP and General Manager, Software and Services, Radisys. “We’ve teamed with Qucell to meet this demand with a pre-integrated, feature-rich solution for our customers.”

Radisys' Connect RAN gNodeB software is 3GPP-compliant, meets both FAPI and nFAPI specifications, and compliant with O-RAN Alliance architecture.

Qucell Networks CEO Young-Soo Kwak added,“We are excited to partner with Radisys on 5G small cells that deliver robust connectivity and high performance for a variety of indoor and outdoor use cases. Radisys is the leader in 5G software, and this integrated solution offers our joint customers an easy path to 5G deployment.”
