Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley to Benefit from Kajeet and Keystone Metro Fiber's Initiative

By Greg Tavarez

Private wireless networks, with their increased security, cost-savings and improved connectivity, are vital for municipalities. (And for good reason.) Municipalities often need to transmit sensitive information related to public safety or critical infrastructure, and having a private network can help prevent unauthorized access. Municipalities also save money by not having to pay for access to a public network.

At that point, it is a no-brainer for municipalities to adopt private wireless networks to meet their needs and provide reliable coverage and connectivity. But sometimes, adopting private wireless networks is not as clear-cut as some would think.

Well, a well-known provider of wireless connectivity solutions for municipalities, Kajeet, simplifies private wireless across verticals from schools to hospitals to the factory floor, delivering everything needed to easily design, install and manage a private wireless network. Extending its Private 5G Platform to Pennsylvania, Kajeet entered a strategic partnership with Keystone Metro Fiber, a subsidiary of Ironton Telephone, to offer private and public 5G and LTE network solutions in the Lehigh Valley.

Keystone Metro Fiber's Citizens Broadband Radio Service spectrum and Kajeet's Private 5G and LTE technology platforms bring significant benefits to the local economy by fostering technological innovation, as well as creating new jobs.

Kajeet Private Wireless is designed to simplify private wireless, delivering everything needed to easily design, install and manage a private wireless network. Through Kajeet’s platform, organizations gain a fully managed, device-and-equipment-agnostic solution, as well as public and private network capabilities.

"We are ready to collaborate with Keystone Metro Fiber and leverage their expertise in network design and management to provide businesses, schools and municipalities in the area with the connectivity they need to succeed in the digital age,” Derrick Frost, Senior Vice President of Operations and Private Networks at Kajeet. “Together, we will expand our reach and deliver innovative solutions that will transform enterprise networks."

Richard Kolsby, Chief Technology Officer at Keystone Metro Fiber, agrees with Frost.

"Kajeet's Private 5G Platform will enable us to become one of the leading service providers in the Lehigh Valley as we plan, construct and operate our carrier-grade private LTE and 5G networks for enterprises and public organizations of all sizes,” said Kolsby.
